Central Europe’s first biomethane fuelstation delivered by DMT Environmental Technology, was inaugurated on Wednesday September 22th 2010 at Zalaegerszeg - Hungary. The biogas which is produced from sewage has a 70 % methane content. The upgraded biomethane fuel has a 99% methane content; almost the same quality and energy content as natural gas.
“About a hundred vehicles will be fueled with biogas, the investment will pay off quickly” said Andrew Arnhoffer - technical director. “The biogas station is not only economically but also environmentally important. We believe that this is not just a service station that can be capable of refueling our own cars , but an improvement for the future which will also benefit the local public transport.”
“The project has a long-term vision for the commercial marketing of biofuel" said dr. Richard Burjan - President and CEO of Zalavíz Inc.
