About half a year ago I started working in the R&D department of DMT Milieutechniek BV. During my first weeks at DMT I mainly worked on a couple of articles and presentations for symposia. Later on the focus of my work shifted towards the development of a water reuse system for the Biosulfurex®. Together with Ruud (one of the interns that I was supervising) many experiments were performed to obtain practical data for the engineering process. After about two months I was fed up with the commuting between Groningen and Joure and accepted the offer to move into the company cottage in Rohel. Although during winter the park is basically abandoned, this cottage near the Tjeukemeer is a nice place to stay. Here I stayed for two months, after which I found a suitable apartment in Heerenveen, where I am now happily living together with my girlfriend. In the meantime my job at DMT started to become more diverse, with projects in the area of biogas upgrading, CO2 removal and water treatment. This diversity in projects, the possibility to contribute to solutions for environmental problems and its international focus make DMT a really interesting company to work for.
