(18-11-11) Building a career at DMT

Building a career at DMT by Joost Edens

After just one month finishing my studies of bioprocess technology, I started working in the R&D department at DMT. In the first half year, I got the opportunity to operate a MBR installation, helped starting up two large wastewater treatment plants in Turkey, guided certification and practical placement of small waste water treatment plants in Ireland and started working in a pilot plant treating odorous air.

The coming years, I traveled to Spain, Ireland, China, Germany, Turkey and Belgium. Here I gained both practical and theoretical experience to design, start-up and maintain pilot plants as well full scale plants. Traveling had always been a great pleasure to me. To be able to combine traveling with one of the big five’s of DMT, to optimize quality of life across the planet, is even better.

Although I enjoyed working at research very much, I took the change given by DMT to move into the sales department. Currently I get training on the job from my senior colleagues, and start to built up my own customer network. The flexibility of DMT, changes to develop my capabilities and career, as well as being able to work in a very vivid company keeps my job very divers and joyful.
